Though I have never marketed myself as a child portrait photographer, I have photographed many children throughout the years.  Most of the children have belonged to friends and/or family members.  And though my own childhood days have long since passed, I can still remember the amazement and curiosity I held for the world around me and all of the new experiences that came into my life.  In many ways I still feel this way especially when encountering the joys of natures creatures and the discovery of a new place.  Anyway, it gives me great joy to view the world through the lens of a child.  Below are photos of a dear friend’s daughter that were taken awhile back.  The images epitomize the long, lazy days of summer fun when you are a child.  Sometimes I wish I could step back in time to those days…if only for just a day.

Heather & Ken had what I would call a perfect May wedding day!  Though it rained real briefly, it was during a time when everyone was inside anyway and then it passed as quickly as it came.  Best of all, we were fortunate to have pretty, soft light prior to the ceremony when we were doing the majority of the portraits.  More and more I have been photographing outdoor wedding that are in private residences.  This was the case for Heather & Ken’s wedding as the wedding and reception took place in Ken’s parents’ home.  The beauty of the grounds, combined with the intimacy of the smaller guest list, was the perfect scenario for celebrating Heather & Ken’s love on their wedding day!  Here are just a few of my favorite photos from the day.  Congratulations Heather & Ken!!!

I had such a great time photographing Caroline & Lee’s engagement session this past April!  Since their dogs Montana & Scoop are such huge parts of their lives they wanted to include them in a few of the shots.  Being the animal lover that I am, I was happy to include them in the shoot!  Here are a few of my favorite photos from their session.  To view more images please check out the featured engagement sessions shown in my portfolio towards the top of the site.

I had so much fun this past March being a guest at the Tennessee Wedding and Events Specialist Association  meeting, that was held at the beautiful Cheekwood Museum of Art!  Even more fun was documenting the pretty details and food provided specifically for the meeting!  Cheekwood has for years been one of my favorite places to photograph a wedding.  The photographic options are unlimited and the event planning team (comprised of Stephanie Shultz and Jenny Fkye) is fabulous!  And before I forget the chef at Cheekwood is a true artist and his food is simply scrumptious!  Below is a list of the contributing wedding professionals to this event.

Flowers – Branching Out Event Florist

Linens – Connie Duglin Specialty Linen

Blue Plates – BBJ Linen

Food – Cheekwood’s personal catering team

Cupcakes – Signature Cakes by Vickie

Music City Tents and Events

Lighting & Music – Southern Sky Lighting and DJ
